This Privacy Policy describes how Getting There ("the App") handles information when you use the App on your device. It applies to both the iPhone version (available on the App Store) and the Android version (available on Google Play).
The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information to us.
To show real-time departures, the App makes requests to public transport data services (listed under Third-Party Services below). These requests include only the station you have selected. No account, login, or personal details are required or used.
The App may request access to your device's location solely to estimate how long it would take you to walk or drive to your selected station. Location is only used while the App is open, never in the background, and it is never sent to us or stored by the App.
You can deny or turn off location permission at any time in your device's settings. The App works normally without it; only the walking and driving estimates are hidden.
Any preferences you set (such as your rail service, saved stations, routes and favourites) are stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device.
Uninstalling the App deletes all of this data. On Android you can also remove it at any time with Settings → Apps → Getting There → Storage → Clear storage.
The App retrieves departure information directly from the following public data services, depending on which rail service you choose:
As with any internet request, these services can see your device's IP address. Please refer to their own privacy policies for information on their data practices. All requests are made over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
The App does not use analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or any other third-party tracking services.
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
